Day 2 Highlights — ISBC & ISLS 2026 | Rayong, Thailand What an incredible day of science! Day 2 of the XXIII International Symposium on Bioluminescence and Chemiluminescence (ISBC) & XXI International Symposium on Luminescence Spectrometry (ISLS) was packed with brilliant minds and groundbreaking research. This morning's plenary sessions brought us:• Prof. Martin Marek unraveling the complexity of Renilla bioluminescence.• Prof. Jose M. Costa-Fernandez on innovative photoluminescent nanoparticles for healthcare diagnostics and food safety.• Prof. Tirayut Vilaivan showcasing fluorogenic styryl dyes and PNA probes for nucleic acid imaging.• Prof. Micha Fridman shedding light on chemical probes for antifungal drug design.The afternoon broke into three exciting parallel sessions covering reaction mechanisms of chemi- and bioluminescence, advanced luminescent nanomaterials, and luminescent biosensing — with keynote speakers and researchers from around the globe sharing their latest discoveries.The day wrapped up with a heartfelt Memorial Session honoring the legacy of Prof. Yoshihiro Ohmiya, followed by energetic flash talks and a vibrant poster session. Every session reminds us why Thailand is so proud to be the first Southeast Asian host of this landmark event.
