Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC) celebrated, in April 2023, the 8th anniversary of its educational and research endeavors with pride and confidence. The emphasis on the four key factors: (1) passionate faculty, (2) talented students, (3) state-of-the-art facilities, and (4) frontier research has been a solid foundation for VISTEC to rapidly accumulate successes along the path from the start till today. The high-quality research outputs bring VISTEC to the forefront in Thailand and stand high in the world’s academic community. After being in the top 12 among the world’s educational institutions under 30 years of age by Nature Index 2018, VISTEC’s position keeps rising. By December 2021, Nature Index Ranking placed VISTEC at the number one position in Thailand in three categories: Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, and All Subjects. Additionally, VISTEC is in the top 3 among ASEAN countries in Chemical Sciences. In September 2022, Scimago Institutions Rankings placed VISTEC as number one in innovation amongst all Thai universities. The number one ranking in Thailand for computer science by CSRankings in 2023 gives VISTEC additional energy to achieve more success as a proud research institution. Since its establishment, VISTEC has been cultivating high-quality human resources for the nation and the world. 

VISTEC is deeply grateful for the support from all distinguished donors in both the public and private sectors, including PTT Group, (PTT, GC, PTTEP, Thai Oil, IRPC, GPSC, and OR). Follow-up contributions later came from Kasikorn Bank, Siam Commercial Bank, Bangchak Corporation, Ministry of Energy, and other funding agencies.

VISTEC’s next mission is to be ranked one of the top 50 universities in the world by 2035 (20:50). Thus, the institute requires continued support from current and future donors who share the same vision to drive our nation forward with sustainability.

As part of the Thai government tax exemption campaign, donors are eligible for corporate tax exemption at 200% of the support fund. The institute looks forward to receiving support from all sectors and individuals so the faculty and students can continue striving towards frontier research, cultivating well-versed leaders in science and technology, and contributing to national demands and global challenges.
